CEDEAL is characterized by contributing to the democratization of society, through the generation of knowledge and actions that contribute to overcoming situations of social exclusion and gender and ethnic inequalities, to promote an active civil society oriented to the exercise of human rights, the strengthening of a civic culture and the generation of local capacities.

The future projection of CEDEAL is specified in being the institution that leads the way in promoting a pedagogy of difference and plurality that affects the development of integrative and mobilizing capacities of the various efforts and synergies of a social and cultural nature, political, economic and environmental that favor the improvement of the quality of life and sustainable human development of disadvantaged groups, preserving the principles of innovation, ethics, solidarity and equity.

Institutional Services
Participatory management of social and environmental conflict resolution, sustainable management of natural resources, development plans, programs and sustainable projects for community development.
Design of compensatory and alternative education programs and processes, gender and human rights approaches.
Production of participatory methodologies for research, planning, project management, institutional and organizational strengthening, consensus building and cultural revitalization.

Action Strategies

Encourage the construction of equity in society with the supportive participation of its actors, promoting gender equity, and the full enforcement of social, political, cultural, economic, environmental and diversity human rights.

Encourage the interweaving between knowledge generation, critical debate, strengthening of civil society and expansion of citizenship of women and of various ethnic groups, as key axes of institutional work, from a conception of rights that seeks to promote the development of deliberative capacities and citizen control.

Promote, conceive and develop educational processes, programs and projects for quality education and training that respond to local demand through the CEDEAL Occupational Center.

Strengthen, support and advise public and private capacities for the participation of social organizations and institutions in the processes of decentralization, local development, democracy and governance, with an orientation that promotes the social actor and autonomy of the partner organizations.

Promote and support local processes of conservation and sustainable use of natural resources through intervention, promotion and access to management by the populations, especially women.

To comply with its lines of action, CEDEAL articulates its working method around four axes: targeting, synergies, comprehensiveness and generation of social capital. Gender and cultural equity are transversal axes.

Lines of action:
National Training Program on Rights and Citizenship , promotes educational processes, strengthening of collective actions, organizational advice for political advocacy and improvement of the management of social organizations and local governments.
Program for Strengthening and Social Participation of Women, promotes organizational development, access and articulation to decision-making spaces for advocacy on public policies with gender equality, and the promotion of a culture of citizen participation and social responsibility and exercise of rights.
Local Development and Governance Program, with emphasis on education, training, technical advice to improve institutional capacities for planning, management of local governments, promoting citizen participation, strengthening spaces and mechanisms aimed at social control.
Economic Generation Area
Promote Economic Rights with the generation of training actions for production processes, alternative marketing networks, technological innovations, and solidarity savings and credit spaces.
Lines of action:
Economic Entrepreneurship Program, favors the promotion, dissemination and exercise of the economic rights of populations; entrepreneurial processes, organization of savings and credit systems, self-generation of employment, and productive business activities.
Ecological Agriculture and Environmental Conservation Program, seeks to improve the living conditions of the populations of marginal urban and rural neighborhoods, with the implementation of clean production processes that generate food security, increase the income level and support the environment.
Cultural and Educational Intervention Area
Promotion of Social and Cultural Rights with the implementation of educational programs that provide a knowledge base, strategic tools for problem solving, the promotion of proposals, the development of skills and aptitudes for development in the social environment as active people , participatory and authentic.
Lines of action:
Compensatory Education-Functional Literacy Program, for the insertion in the formal educational system of adult women and men, promoting the recognition and appreciation of cultural diversity, with pertinent educational proposals and based on ancestral knowledge.
Education Program for the experience and exercise of sexual and reproductive rights, promotes responses that seek to increase levels of responsibility for a satisfactory and dignified coexistence among human beings, through education and socialization of experiences that favor the construction joint proposals against sexuality, STIs, HIV / AIDS and adolescent pregnancy, with the general population, with young men and women from rural and marginal urban communities
Sexual and Reproductive Rights
Promote responses that seek to increase the levels of responsibility for a satisfactory and dignified coexistence among human beings, through education and socialization of experiences that favor the joint construction of propositions against sexuality, STIs, HIV / AIDS and the early pregnancy, with the general population, and of rural and marginal urban communities.

Research and Publications Area
The workspaces are a laboratory and source of data and knowledge about the social, political and economic realities of population groups, being also a key element within the institutional work as a framework of orientation and reference for the implementation of institutional interventions.
Beneficiaries
The institutional work experience has been developed with men and women, fulfilling the institutional mandate, positive action is exercised working with groups of diverse women. Without abandoning the efforts started, the experience of institutional work has focused on mixed community groups and women, and their grassroots organizations, considering targeting under the criteria of gender, ethnic and social inequalities.
